Job Description

Job Title: Software Engineer (SC Cleared)
Location: Farnborough
Duration: 6 months with possible extension
Rate: Up to £745 per day via an approved umbrella company
Must be willing and eligible to go through the SC Clearance process

What you'll be doing:
  • Developing and integrating complex software systems for maritime test and evaluation facilities.
  • Supporting the design, development, testing, and delivery of digital signal processing solutions.
  • Collaborating effectively with stakeholders, customers, and colleagues across various platforms.
  • Managing change control and configuration processes to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Applying your problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and optimise software solutions.
What you'll bring:
  • Strong problem-solving and engineering skills with a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  • Proven experience in designing, developing, and delivering complex software systems.
  • Proficiency in C++ and Linux environment development.
  • Knowledge of analogue-to-digital (ADC) and digital-to-analogue (DAC) converters and digital signal processing.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of working with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Desirable skills include:
  • Experience in defence or related sectors.
  • Embedded software development for target hardware.
  • Familiarity with coding standards, static code analysis, and Agile practices such as Scrum, CI/CD, TDD, and BDD.
  • Experience with Atlassian tools like Jira, Confluence, and BitBucket.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 4 7 years of software development experience across multiple programming languages.
