Sawmill/Yard Operative, Haverfordwest, West Wales

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Sawmill / Yard Operative to join our team at our West Wales branch in Haverfordwest. This is a great opportunity to become part of a busy operation, supporting yard activities, production, and customer order fulfilment. Working closely with the Yard Foreperson and wider team, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day operations while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.

What you will be doing

• Pick and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently
• Load and unload vehicles safely
• Carry out manual handling tasks, including lifting and stacking timber
• Operate sawmill machinery and production lines (where trained)
• Check the quality of machined timber
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe yard (yard housekeeping)
• Use a forklift for stock movement and loading (if licensed)
• Ensure goods in and goods out processes are completed accurately
• Maintain high standards of Health & Safety at all times
• Follow company procedures and contribute to continuous improvement

What we are looking for

• Ability to carry out manual handling tasks and meet the physical demands of the role
• Reliable with a strong work ethic
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
• Forklift licence preferred
• Previous experience in a yard, sawmill, or similar environment is advantageous but not essential
