Lead SAP HCM Payroll Consultant - Spain

Start Date: March

End Date: January 2027
Location: Remote with some onsite presence as required
Engagement: Freelance/Independent Consultant
Client: Global organisation undergoing a SAP Payroll deployment programme

Overview

Akkodis is supporting a large global client preparing to deploy SAP Payroll across Europe. We are looking for a seasoned Lead SAP HCM Payroll Consultant (Spain) to take ownership of the Spanish payroll stream and join the project from kickoff.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the full implementation of SAP HCM Spanish Payroll (PY)
• Conduct requirements gathering, workshops, and design sessions
• Configure Spanish payroll rules, schemas, and legal features
• Ensure alignment with Spanish statutory and compliance obligations
• Work closely with the project team to deliver a robust payroll solution
• Support testing cycles including SIT, UAT, regression, and parallel payroll
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, and local market stakeholders
• Drive deployment activities including cutover planning and data validation
• Provide post-go-live support and handover

Required Skills & Experience

• Significant hands-on experience as a Lead SAP HCM PY Consultant for Spain
• Strong knowledge of Spanish payroll legislation and country-specific processes
• End-to-end implementation experience (design to go-live)
• Ability to lead workshops and manage senior stakeholders
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
• Experience working within large, international programmes is highly valued

Nice to Have

• Experience with multi-country SAP payroll rollouts
• Familiarity with EC-PY integration
• Previous work in global consulting environments
