SAP Developer:

The Financial Systems team provides technology expertise to the finance department and is responsible for SAP, HANA, and connected 3rd party systems. The goal is to transform how users interact with SAP by building a finance application platform that simplifies business processes and delivers improved financial insights.

The Financial Systems architecture leverages SAP technologies like FICA, BRIM (Convergent Mediation, Convergent Invoicing, etc.), ABAP, HANA, Java, Kafka, Mulesoft, and SAP S/4 HANA 2022.

As a Senior Developer specialized in SAP Convergent Mediation (CM), you will be responsible for integrating business-critical data from upstream systems, reconciling it according to financial processes, and generating transactions consumed by FICA and SAP Convergent Invoicing. You'll collaborate with functional and technical experts including SAP ABAP Developers, Kafka Engineers, Product Managers, and Architects to build robust integrations between upstream systems and SAP.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, architecture, and development of scalable and high-performance solutions using SAP CM, SAP CI, FICA, and Kafka-based infrastructure for finance-related use cases.

• Develop workflows and configurations to collect finance-specific data from upstream systems via Kafka, File/FTP, REST APIs, HANA, and database integrations.

• Drive architecture enhancements and optimize SAP CM workflows and integration layers.

• Build scalable SAP CM solutions with integrated logging, tracing, and alerting using tools like Grafana and Prometheus.

• Process and decode various data formats (eg, Avro) to generate BITs for SAP CI and FICA.

• Build unit, integration, and automation tests for CM workflows and ensure integration with upstream and downstream systems.

• Integrate CM workflows with version control tools like Git and GitLab.

• Debug and resolve CM issues, including those arising from external interfaces.

• Troubleshoot complex workflow and system issues, using advanced APL (Application Programming Language) knowledge.

• Identify system gaps and propose complete solutions to improve scalability and operational efficiency.

• Mentor junior developers on CM development practices and standards.

• Collaborate with SAP Functional FICA experts, ABAP developers, architects, and product stakeholders to design and implement critical integrations.

• Participate in technical design reviews, feasibility assessments, and roadmap planning.

Qualifications:

• 9-15 years of experience in software design and development, with a focus on integration technologies.

• Hands-on expertise in SAP/Digital Route Convergent Mediation (CM), capable of designing and building complex, scalable workflows.

• Strong experience in SAP CM and BRIM architecture, particularly in Order-to-Cash (OTC) processes.

• Advanced proficiency in APL, Agents, Analysis, IWF, and other CM components.

• Experience using Git and GitLab with CM workflows (preferred).

• Background in developing unit, integration, and automation tests for SAP CM.

• Experience integrating with large data sources using Kafka, REST APIs, File/FTP, and databases.

• Proficiency in decoding and processing UDRs using data formats like Avro.

• Mandatory experience with SAP HANA; SAP BRIM experience is an advantage.

• Demonstrated ability to work on cross-functional teams and lead architecture/design discussions.

• Preferred exposure to Java and Kafka ecosystems.

• Familiarity with Jira, Agile methodologies, and test automation tools is a plus.

• Strong ownership mindset and ability to drive strategic platform improvements independently.
