Job Title: Sales Representative (Food Industry)

Reporting To: Area Manager

Territory:
You will be responsible for your agreed territory, with flexibility to work in other areas as required in support of the business.

Role Overview

The Sales Representative is responsible for managing and growing sales within the catering sector. This role focuses on new business development, strengthening existing customer relationships, working closely with distribution partners, and delivering promotional campaigns. You will also support wider business initiatives and help maintain a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities - New Business Development
  • Identify and develop new catering customers within your territory.
  • Introduce new customers to the product range.
  • Expand the range of products supplied to existing catering customers.
  • Ensure customers continue to be supplied through approved distributors.
  • Build strong relationships with distributor teams to drive sales growth.
  • Complete agreed activities with distributors and submit reports within agreed timelines.
Campaign Management
  • Manage promotional programmes through distributors and customers on a monthly basis to maximise results.
  • Deliver targeted sales drives and initiatives across specific regions or customer segments in an efficient and timely manner.
Reporting
  • Complete daily and weekly reports using the CRM system.
  • Report key customer or market events as they occur.
  • Monitor and report market changes including pricing, product activity, distributor developments, trends, and competitor activity.
Performance Standards

Performance will be measured against:

  • Monthly sales targets and area budgets.
  • Weekly call activity and monthly conversion rates.
  • Call quality standards through ongoing field sales assessments.
  • Accuracy and timeliness of administration and internal communication.
  • Distributor development and engagement.
Additional Duties
  • Support ongoing company initiatives and projects.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by your Line Manager within the scope of the role.
