Overview

My client, a manufacturer of specialist products for the leisure industry, is seeking to employ a highly motivated and results-oriented Sales Representative to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in local and international sales and a strong understanding of relationship building.

As a Sales Representative, you will be a vital part of the sales team, responsible for promoting and selling products to prospective distributors and maintaining relationships with current distributors. Your ability to build relationships, understand customer needs, and achieve sales targets will be pivotal to our company's growth and success. The sales representative will be expected to generate leads that result in new sales, while also nurturing existing clients and increasing revenues from the current client base. You will have direct contact with leads and clients and make sales pitches and presentations.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and target potential customers through various methods, including leads, referrals, and research.
  • Initiate contact with prospective distributors/present distributors to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Deliver persuasive sales presentations and product demonstrations to showcase value propositions and benefits.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets and quotas set by the company.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the company's products or services and stay informed about industry trends.
  • Achieve and maintain sales quotas to drive revenue growth.
  • Understand customer needs, challenges, and preferences, and provide tailored solutions to address specific requirements.
  • Conduct market research to understand customer preferences, competitor activities, and market trends.
  • Generate and maintain accurate sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline management.
  • Provide post-sale support and follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction and address any issues or concerns.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell or upsell additional products or services to existing customers.
  • Gather feedback from customers to inform product/service improvements and enhance the overall customer experience.
  • Follow established sales processes for effective sales management.
  • Explore new markets, territories, or customer segments for potential business growth.
  • Stay up to date with product or service knowledge and participate in training programs to remain informed and skilled in presenting and selling products or services.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Tertiary qualification in Marketing and Sales
  • Proven track record and experience as a Sales Representative.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • Proficiency in sales techniques, including prospecting, objection handling, and closing deals.
  • Product knowledge and the ability to convey technical information in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Resilience and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, competitive sales environment.
  • Adaptability and a willingness to learn and adapt to changing market conditions.
