DAF Trucks Ireland is the exclusive distributor and primary retailer for DAF Trucks in Ireland. We're seeking a driven B2B sales professional with experience in commercial vehicle or capital equipment sales to join our high performing team.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Sales Executive to join the team.
Reporting to the Dealer Sales Manager, the purpose of this role is to maximise sales opportunities with reference to commercial vehicles, associated products and after sales packages to achieve dealer profitability targets and manufacturer targets.
Your key responsibilities will include:- To generate gross profit contributions from the sale of the company's goods and services, to the minimum target levels. Using sound selling techniques and professional technical and procedural knowledge.
- To visit and build relationships with both existing and new prospective customers of the company. To present the Company and its products to the best advantage, using integrity and loyalty.
- Ensure all vehicles and services are supplied in accordance with legal, contractual, manufacturer and customer specifications and requirements in expected time frame.
- To present deals in the required format, ensuring that all the information is accurate. Ensuring company orders are completed in the correct manner, signed by the customer and all records of transactions are maintained for audit purposes.
- Ensure that vehicles offered in part exchange are correctly appraised and underwritten by the responsible manager and associated documentation is correct.
- To deal with all customers in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
- Manage working time effectively to deliver best results and service. Follow up sales prospects in a timely manner, consistent with effective time management.
- Maintain and develop a detailed knowledge of products, competition and area of responsibility including a good knowledge of market trends, management tools e.g. Spotlight tool, industry legislation and funding methods through continuous training. Provide knowledge and support to colleagues as required to improve company profit opportunities.
- Participate as required in marketing and sales promotion activities and events, some held on evenings and weekends.
- A minimum of three subjects at Leaving Certificate level, obtained at Ordinary Level (Grade O6) or higher, including English and Mathematics, or an equivalent qualification deemed acceptable by the organization.
- Higher Level Qualifications preferred but not essential.
- Minimum 1 to 2 years in a retail sales or technical automotive experience.
- Driving licence required.
- PC skills and IT literacy are essential.
- Extensive Product and Skills training will be provided on the Job.
