Job Description
Role

The Sales Commissions Analyst is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and execution of Proofpoint's sales compensation processes within Xactly. This role ensures accurate participant setup, system maintenance, commission calculations, reconciliations, and payment processing while maintaining compliance with established controls and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Support the administration and maintenance of the Xactly Incent platform, including participant records, reporting hierarchies, territories, quotas, and compensation plan assignments.
  • Assist with employee onboarding, promotions, transfers, manager changes, and terminations to ensure compensation system data remains accurate and current.
  • Participate in the monthly commission calculation and payout process by validating data, researching discrepancies, processing adjustments, and supporting the timely delivery of commission payments.
  • Prepare commission reports, payroll files, and supporting documentation required for compensation processing and financial close activities.
  • Perform reconciliations between Xactly, Salesforce, payroll, and financial systems to help ensure payment accuracy and data consistency.
  • Support internal controls, audit requests, and documentation requirements while maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Partner with Sales Compensation, Finance, Payroll, HR, and Sales Operations teams to support compensation plan updates, annual plan rollovers, testing activities, and system enhancements.
  • Contribute to process improvement efforts that increase operational efficiency, accuracy, and scalability within the sales compensation function.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in sales commissions administration or business analysis at a high growth company (preferably SaaS).
  • Degree in Finance or other business related field or relevant experience.
  • Understanding of the common elements of variable incentive compensation practices.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure while leveraging time management skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, etc.) and the ability to quickly manipulate and analyze large data sets.
  • Experience with Xactly SPM and Salesforce systems strongly preferred, as well as an understanding of Sales Operations/Order Management processes.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive compensation matters with discretion.
  • Willingness and ability to adapt to rapid business and organizational changes in high growth environments, successfully adjusting priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and play multiple project related team roles.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and verbal & written communication skills.
  • PowerBI knowledge a plus but not required.
