The closing date is 26 July 2026.
Are you a GP with a passion for ADHD assessment and management, looking for the opportunity to shape a new and innovative service? Are you looking for a flexible opportunity that can fit around your existing commitments?
Healthier West Wirral Primary Care Network is excited to launch a dedicated ADHD service for patients across West Wirral, and we are looking to appoint a GP with a Special Interest in ADHD to play a pivotal role in its development and success.
We are committed to creating a service that is clinically excellent, responsive, and sustainable, and we are looking for someone who shares our ambition and enthusiasm. As this is a brand-new service, the successful candidate will have genuine opportunities to influence how it develops and evolves.
The core requirement for this role is three sessions per week dedicated to the ADHD service. However, we recognise that many GPs are looking for greater flexibility or additional sessions. For candidates seeking up to eight sessions per week, we can offer the opportunity to combine the ADHD role with sessions in our established GP Acute Home Visiting Service and/or our GP Acute Hub, creating a varied and rewarding portfolio role within the Primary Care Network.
If you are looking for a role that offers flexibility, autonomy, and the chance to make a lasting impact on the delivery of ADHD care within primary care, we would be delighted to hear from you.
Main duties of the jobThis is a unique opportunity to help design and develop a high-quality, patient-centred service from the outset. Working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team, you will undertake ADHD assessments, diagnose patients, initiate and titrate medication where appropriate, and provide ongoing monitoring and review to support patients throughout their treatment journey.
About usHealthier West Wirral Primary Care Network is an ambitious and forward-thinking organisation serving over 70,000 patients across five GP practices on the west side of the Wirral Peninsula. We are committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care by developing innovative services that meet the changing needs of our local population. Our focus is on providing proactive, integrated care closer to home, improving patient outcomes while supporting the sustainability of primary care. Our multidisciplinary team includes GPs, nurses, clinical pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, physician associates, care coordinators and social prescribers, all working collaboratively to deliver seamless care across our communities. As the NHS continues its shift towards neighbourhood healthcare, we are proud to be developing new models of care and creating opportunities for clinicians to shape services, develop specialist interests and make a real difference. If you're looking for a role where you can innovate, collaborate and influence the future of primary care, we'd love to hear from you.
