GPS Healthcare is currently seeking a Salaried GP to join our dedicated team, delivering care across our six practices in Solihull. We're looking for motivated and passionate individuals who value the core principles of General Practice continuity of care, strong patient relationships, and collaborative working. This role will suit a candadite who is looking to work during the school holidays.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide the full range ofgeneral medical services managing a caseload with a wide range of health needsin a primary care setting, in line with the GPS Healthcare objectives ofproviding the highest standards of care for all registered and temporarypatients

To support the clinical and administrative team tomanage a busy and interesting clinical caseload. There will be the opportunityover time to take part in leading on key disease areas and assist in developingappropriate healthcare services for a diverse patient list.

Involvement in audits, practice & service developments, QI work, teaching and GSF/MDT meetings

Reception Signposting a priority, GP Workflow Administrators and an Acute Care Team

A team of Clinical Pharmacists, Paramedics, ANPs and Social Prescribers to support GPs and patients

Job responsibilities
  • The post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GPworking within primary care including but not limited to
  • In accordance with the agreed timetable the post-holder will be available to undertake a variety of dutiesincluding surgery consultations and emergencies, telephone consultations and queries, triaging, homevisits, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, pathology results, managingcorrespondence in a timely manner, patient medical reports and examinations (e.g. Insurance companyreports), referral letters, paperwork and correspondence and to take part in the duty rota.
  • Make professional autonomous decisions relating to patient care
  • Record clear contemporaneous IT based consultation notes
  • Collect data for audit purposes
  • Extended hours as agreed by the practice
  • Compiling and issuing acute and repeat prescriptions
  • Prescribing in accordance with locally agreed or national guidelines
  • All other duties reasonable expected of a GP working within primary care

Person Specification Qualifications
  • Primary medical degree
  • Vocationally trained and accredited GP with MRCGP
Experience
  • A vocationally trained and accredited GP with MRCGP, excellent knowledge of NHS and clinical procedures.
  • A good knowledge of and interest in general practice and primary care and a good working knowledge of national primary care strategies and ideas on how to implement these within the practice.
  • Experience of working as part of a multi disciplinary team, able to put the needs of the practice and team ahead of individual needs and at busy times, periods of increased workload and respond in a flexible way to functions in workload.
  • An interest in a particular disease area and willingness to take a leadership role within it. To demonstrate the ability to focus on long-term goals rather than short-term issues/details.
  • A good working knowledge of national primary care strategies and ideas on how to implement these within the practice and are able to focus on long term strategic goals rather than short term issues / details.
Skills Required
