Salaried GP, Gloucester Health Access Centre We are looking for aFlexible Salaried GPto join our practice in Gloucester.
G DOC LTD has an opportunity for GPs who enjoy working in a team environment to join our GloucesterHealth Access Centre (GHAC) practice operating in the centre of Gloucester. Wehave sessions available at GHAC and also at our Branch Surgery in Matson.
GHAC has a stable clinical staff structure inplace but increasing patient population and demand means we are looking toaugment the current GPs with an additional salaried GP(s) covering upto 43 hours per week, split over sessions per week.
We offer highly flexible working that can be tailored to your needsand balanced with patient requirements. We share on-call duties across all GPs, guarantee finite patients contacts per day, andoffer an excellentwork-life balance.
This is a fantastic opportunityfor a new or established GP seeking a salaried position.

Main duties of the job
We directly manage several GP surgeries in Gloucester and the Forest of Dean, providing patient-centred care to more than 45,000 patients. Job responsibilities duties Specific to Role
Surgery consultations and emergencies, telephone consultations and queries, triaging, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, patient test results, patient medical reports and examinations (e.g. insurance companies) on behalf of the Practice, referral letters, and NHS/private paperwork and correspondence.
Undertaking a share of the clinical and administrative work of the Practice, including pooled clinical admin, QOF, audit, prescribing reviews etc. All GPs are expected to undertake a share of clinical lead roles & responsibilities, proportionate to their contracted hours.
Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
Collecting data for audit purposes as per Practice protocols.
Reviewing patients for the purposes of quality improvement and safety. i.e. MRHA safety alerts and long-term condition reviews.
Prescribing in accordance with locally agreed or national guidelines.
Cover for other doctors by reciprocal sharing of correspondence, results and prescriptions for absent doctors.
If appointed as Lead GP:
Provide clinical leadership, support and managerial oversight to G DOCs clinicians
Work with the Chief Executive, Clinical Director and Practice Manager to ensure that the Practice has a robust system of clinical governance and risk management, including clinical audit, management of significant events (including Serious Incidents), and complaints.
Ensure the Practice provides a supportive working environment for clinicians, and support clinicians learning and professional development.
Support and manage the clinical, administrative and contractual work of the Practice, working in partnership with G DOCs management team, particularly the Practice Manager.
Represent the Practice within the primary care network and develop PCN-based working.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Helping to ensure that the Practice provides a supportive working environment for clinicians, trainees and other employees. Supporting colleagues learning and professional development, as well as your own.
Helping to ensure that the Practice complies with CQC requirements for primary care, including all fundamental standards of care.
You will be required to be immunised in compliance with Green Book and NHS recommendations for your role (unless medically exempt).
Ensuring that you always work within your own competencies and training.
Observing health and safety guidelines at all times.

Under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, you have a personal responsibility to have regard to your own and others safety.
You should familiarise yourself with fire exits at all sites where you work, and the action that you should take in the event of a fire.
Personal alarms are available from G DOC for all GPs, wherever you are working. Your site induction should cover local procedures for summoning external help. Please ensure you familiarise yourself with these local procedures.
You must comply with site Health and Safety procedures, including those that concern clinical waste, use of hazardous substances, and the use and disposal of sharps.
Health and safety hazards should be reported to the Practice Manager.
You should dress appropriately and professionally. To reduce the risk of sharps injuries, shoes should be closed (not open sandals).
You must ensure that your car is insured for commuting and for any business use, if applicable (e.g. home visits if part of your role).
GP staff in Gloucestershire have been the victims of serious & sustained stalking and violence. You should not give anyone outside the Practice information about when and where colleagues will be working. Refer any queries about rotas etc to the Practice Manager or G DOC. Be aware that stalkers may have knowledge of the local healthcare system and sound very plausible.
