Job Description

Ardingly Court Surgery (in Kemptown, Brighton) is seekingsalaried GP to join our team.

Weare a friendly inner city NHS GP practice in vibrant area of Brighton.

Seek to provide a positive working environment with a good worklife balance.

4 sessions per week, ideally Monday and Thursday startingin October 2025. (If you are unable to offer these days please state what you can offer for this to be considered).

Salary £11,600 per annum per session (£46,400 pro rata).

Annual leave and study leave in line with BMA salariedcontract.

Potential for partnership position with supporteddevelopment.

Excellent administrative support from workflow team (reviewand code all clinical documents).

GP training practice & have very activePrimary Care Network

We are GP practice of approximately 6500 patients. AllowingGPs to have a manageable patient list and continuity of care.

High performing QOF and rated Good for CQC.

Our clinical system is EMIS and we utilise Ardens templatesto assist with data capture.

Main duties of the job

Provide high quality patient care

Carry out surgery, telephone andvideo consultations and undertake home visits

Liaise with other team membersand organisations involved in patient care and respond promptly to queries

Investigate and refer patients asappropriate in line with current guidance

Deal promptly with results andcorrespondence

Provide cover as required whenother GPs are on leave

Collect data for audit and QOFpurposes

Excellent communication withpatients and carers

Attend clinical, clinicalgovernance and educational meetings

Strong team player

Strong collaborative workingrelationships with partners and all team members

Effectively manage own time,workload and resources

Attend required training eventse.g. Practice Learning Events and feedback

Reporting of SignificantIncidents involving the practice

Job responsibilities

Providehigh quality patient care including prevention, screening, treatment,management of chronic conditions and health promotion

Developcare and treatment plans in consultation with patients and in line with currentPractice protocols as well as wider guidance e.g. NICE

Carry outsurgery, telephone and video consultations and undertake home visits

Speak andsee patients promptly and in a timely manner. In order to minimise waitingtimes.

Ensureappropriate follow up of patients

Generate,check and sign acute and repeat prescriptions in-line with practice policy

Liaisewith other team members and organisations involved in patient care and respondpromptly to queries

Investigateand refer patients as appropriate in line with current guidance

Dealpromptly with results and correspondence, clearly communicating any actionsthat are required

Providecover as needed, for all of the above, when other GPs are on leave

Whenproviding care ensure the judicious use of resources and NHS funds

Keepclear and contemporaneous computerised consultation notes and patient recordsto agreed standards and in-line with practice policies

Collectdata for audit and QOF purposes

Prescribegenerically whenever appropriate and in accordance with the Practice formulary,commissioning and national guidance

Maintainhigh levels of communication with patients and carers to ensure effectivedelivery of care

Person Specification Qualifications
  • A vocational trained and accredited GP, preferably MRCGP Current registration with the GMC.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • IT proficiency and familiarity with primary care clinical systems (the practice use EMIS).
  • Exceptional team player.
  • Good understanding of GMS contracting requirements and QOF Experience and an interest in a specific disease area
