Job Description

We are a small, friendly dispensing practice located in the beautiful setting of the Yorkshire Dales National Park (Aysgarth and Hawes). With a resilient and stable population of 4,300, we focus on holistic patient care.

We are seeking a part-time (6 sessions) Salaried GP, but are flexible and open to considering both salaried and part-time applicants. The start date is ideally July 2025, but we will wait for the right candidate.

Our practice is innovative, having collaborated with the PCN on a new Frailty Team project aimed at improving the health of our older, more vulnerable population.

We are involved in teaching and support those interested in expanding their education or clinical research within the surgery.

This is a wonderful opportunity to practice rewarding medicine in a stunning landscape.

Our location is within 1 hour of Ripon, Kendal, Northallerton, and Darlington, and within 45 minutes of Richmond.

Main duties of the job
  1. Salaried GP, ideally 6 sessions a week with flexibility.

  3. Serving a stable population within the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Job responsibilities Clinical Care:
  • Providing medical services, including consultations, assessments, diagnoses, and referrals.
  • Developing care plans, especially for patients with chronic conditions, and ensuring adherence to practice protocols.
Administrative Tasks:
  • Processing referrals, repeat prescriptions, and other administrative duties.
Telephone Triage:
  • Handling phone calls and providing initial assessments.
Documentation:
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records using SystmOne.
Practice Contribution:
  • Collaborating with team members, contributing to meetings, and engaging in quality improvement initiatives.
Personal Development:
  • Participating in professional development, including educational meetings and annual reviews.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Compliance: Adhering to policies on prescribing, confidentiality, and data protection.
  • Teamwork: Working effectively with healthcare professionals and staff.
  • On-Call Duties: Participating in on-call rotations as needed.
  • Extended Hours: Offered through our GP Federation as a separate, optional role.

  • GMC Registration / Qualified GP
