Safety Officer

The Role

We are seeking an experienced, site based Safety Officer for our commercial project in Ennis. Reporting directly to the Group Health & Safety Director, this role is responsible for providing competent advice and ensuring full compliance with all Health & Safety legislation, company policies, and statutory requirements.

The successful candidate will lead by example, acting as a visible role model onsite and supporting project teams in achieving the highest standards of Health & Safety performance. You will provide active, site based support to project teams, helping to drive the company's Safety Management System and promoting a proactive, best practice safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular, formal site audits and carry out inspections in line with the Safety Management System.


• Ensure all statutory inspection records are maintained for site activities.


• Deliver Health & Safety induction programmes for new employees and contractors.


• Manage, monitor, and recommend PPE requirements for on site personnel.


• Organise and chair site Safety Meetings.


• Review subcontractors' RAMS & SPA and evaluate their safety compliance.


• Assist Site Management in drafting and communicating Method Statements.


• Maintain and communicate the site Emergency Plans.


• Conduct preliminary accident investigations, while updating the Group Health and Safety Director.


• Ensure First Aiders are available on site and that all required supplies and certifications are up to date.


• Collate and prepare all relevant information for inclusion in the project Safety File for client handover.

You will need

• Health and Safety Cert, Diploma or Degree is essential


• Min 3 years on site Safety Officer experience, in construction


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills


• Experience in the construction industry
