JOB TITLE: Safety & Security Officer - Rochester General Hospital, Security (Part-Time/20 Hours, Evenings)

STATUS: Part-Time

LOCATION: Reidman Health Center - 1455 East Ridge Road, Rochester, NY 14621

DEPARTMENT: Security

SCHEDULE: Mon-Thurs., 4:00 PM - 10:00 PM

SUMMARY

As a Security Officer, you patrol and protect the facility, grounds, and building to preserve the peace and make employees feel safe and secure.

ATTRIBUTES

• One year of guard or public safety experience required

• Ability to remain calm in high-stress situations

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Investigation & Safety. Investigate cases of detected or reported criminal and safety matters; identify and report real or potential hazards in the environment; transfer and discharge patients as requested
• Parking Management. Monitor and control hospital employee and visitor parking areas

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma OR GED
• One year of work experience in the fields of Safety and Security, Public Safety, and/or Law Enforcement.
• NYS Security Guard Act License (OR) Registered as a Police or Peace Officer in NYS
• Valid NYS Driver's license.
• CPR certification obtained within 3 months of hire.
• The Preventing Managing Crisis Situation (PMCS) certification must be obtained within 3 months of hire.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

• SO - Security Officer license - New York State Department of State Division of Licensing Services (DOLS)
• NYS DL - valid New York State Driver's License - New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (NYSDMV)

$23.25 - $23.25
