This role is vital, requiring a high degree of specialist knowledge and the ability to liaise professionally and effectively across all external agencies.
Welcome from the Principal:
Outwood Primary Academy Park Hill is a primary academy based in the cathedral city of Wakefield.
We are a welcoming and supportive academy, with a relentless determination to provide the very best education for every child. We place children at the centre of everything we do, with a focus on creating a culture of success and a positive climate for learning.

ResponsibilitiesYou will provide integrated support for attendance and safeguarding, driving attendance strategies through communication with parents, preparing detailed attendance data reports, and processing formal measures like referrals for Fixed Penalty Notices. Crucially, you will manage the academy's safeguarding overview: responding appropriately to child protection issues, meticulously recording safeguarding incidents and causes for concern.
The role requires attending and providing reports following multi agency meetings, including Child Protection and MARAC, and initiating referrals to external services such as Social Care Direct.
QualificationsEssential requirements include demonstrating specialist safeguarding and attendance knowledge. Candidates must possess exceptional communication skills suitable for a wide range of audiences, coupled with outstanding time management and organisational capabilities. The successful applicant must demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and the proven ability to work on their own initiative. The role requires the ability to interpret complex situations and the capacity to relate sympathetically to students and recognise potential child safeguarding issues. Experience of working in a school environment and in a school attendance related role is desirable.
