Job Description

An opportunity has become available for a part-time, Safeguarding Administrator to support our Safeguarding Officer. The hours will be discussed at interview but will be between Monday and Friday (inclusive) and based at our main surgery in Pool.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will play a key role supporting the Practice Safeguarding Officer in all aspects of patient safeguarding, processing safeguarding concerns and maintaining an environment in which standards of governance and compliance are upheld.

About us

Carn to Coast Health Centres is an 9-Partner Cornish GP Practice serving over 29,000 patients. We have a main surgery in Pool and branch surgeries in Illogan, Camborne and St Day.

Job responsibilities

The post holder will carry out work as delegated to them by the Practice Safeguarding Officer to support the effective and timely delivery of the safeguarding within the Practice.

Person Specification Experience
  • Previous experience of liaising with internal and external multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience with dealing with confidential and sensitive situations.
  • Experience of working in General Practice and using various IT systems. Previous safeguarding experience/knowledge.
  • Able to project a very welcoming and professional image in the approach to work.
  • Empathic and discreet approach when dealing with sensitive staff issues.
  • Great team work ethic.
  • Ability to work under pressure/multi-task.
  • Diligent approach to work.
Qualifications
  • Evidence of good standard of education.
Practical and Intellectual Skills
  • Excellent IT and keyboard skills, including Word and Excel.
  • Methodical, accurate and organised working practices.
  • Accurate and appropriate record keeping.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work in an ordered and logical manner.
  • Able to prioritise workload.
  • Knowledge of the EMIS clinical system, Docman, Klinik and AccuRx.
