Job Description

Safe Haven Weekend Team Lead - 13 hours per week focuses on support a small team of mental health crisis support workers within our safe haven service: our out-of-hours support service for those experiencing a mental health crisis.

What the role involves
  • Support a small team of Mental Health Crisis Support Workers within our Safe Haven Service: our out-of-hours support service for those experiencing a mental health crisis.
  • Provide support and supervision to the staff team, in addition to working collaboratively as part of the Buckinghamshire Mind Operational Management Team.
  • Provide vision and high-quality line management.
  • Create a warm and welcoming environment for people facing out-of-hours mental health crises as a calming alternative to emergency departments.
  • Raise service-user awareness of alternative mental-health services appropriate for treating service users with respect.
  • Provide personalised support focused on individual need.
Confirmed role details
  • Pay: £29,795 FTE plus enhanced hours payment of 30% on top of normal hourly rate for hours worked between 11pm-12am. This calculates as an actual payment of £10,946.91 including the enhanced rate.
  • Hours: 11 hours - Friday and Saturday 6pm - 12am, and 2 hours admin time preferably on a Tuesday morning (13 total hours).

  • Skilled in supporting people with mental-health difficulties to build independence.
  • Develop self-management strategies and make positive change, with consistently respectful and hopeful attitude.
  • Build positive, constructive relationships with external agencies and partners.
Additional role context
  • Affiliated with national Mind and part of a network of over 100 Local Minds.
  • Offer talking therapies and provide support in times of crisis.
