RQ (JS) - Team Manager

Role Purpose

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Team Manager to lead and manage a team of social workers. You will ensure the delivery of high-quality, child-centered services, while meeting legal requirements and improving outcomes for children and young people. You will provide operational leadership, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and work collaboratively to safeguard and enhance the lives of children and families in Birmingham.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership: Lead and manage a team of 7 social workers, ensuring they deliver high-quality services in line with legislative requirements and safeguarding principles.
• Service Improvement: Drive improvements in service delivery, ensuring positive outcomes for children and families.
• Team Development: Provide regular supervision, support, and professional development opportunities for your team.
• Resource Management: Ensure effective use of resources, including budget management, while maintaining service quality.
• Collaboration: Build strong working relationships with other services, contributing to effective partnership working to support families and children.
• Safeguarding: Ensure the safety and welfare of children, making tough decisions when necessary to protect those at risk.

Qualifications and Experience

• Social Work Degree (or equivalent qualification) and HCPC registration.
• Proven experience in social work, including team management or leadership.
• Experience in child protection and safeguarding practices.
• A passion for delivering high-quality, child-centered services that improve outcomes for children and young people.
• Strong communication, leadership, and team management skills.
