Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Physical fitness: able to walk 20,000 steps a day, get in and out of the van regularly, and carry a mailbag up to 16kg.
• Flexibility: adaptable to shift changes at short notice.

Your Role

As a Post Person with Driving, you will be the face of Royal Mail in your community, ensuring letters and parcels are delivered rain or shine. You will drive your delivery van, complete parts of your route on foot, provide exceptional service and ensure every item reaches its destination safely. You will securely deliver all items on your route, including election materials and certain items such as food products or alcohol, in line with Royal Mail business standards.

The role involves walking, driving a Royal Mail delivery van, and passing a driving assessment at start.

Pay & Shifts

The table below outlines the pay rates applicable for roles within our Delivery Offices. The rates displayed are payable for the entirety of your shift where the shift description criteria is met.

Rates could be subject to change during busy periods. Any changes will be communicated in advance.

• Day Shift (0531 - 1959): £13.69
• Dawn Shift (0201 - 0400): £14.61
• Early 0500 Shift (0401 - 0500): £14.61
• Early 0530 Shift (0501 - 0530): £14.61
• Evening Shift (Finishes 2000 - 2139): £14.38
• Lates Shift (Finishes 2140 - 0159): £15.14
• Nights Shift (Three hours across 2300 - 0500): £16.44
