An exciting opportunity has arisen for motivated pharmacists who want to be at the cutting edge of Pharmacy services to join our well supported Rotational Clinical Pharmacist Team.
You will undertake a varied rotational training programme working as a member of our Clinical Pharmacy Team providing ward-based pharmacy support across the Trust in various clinical specialities and operational services which will provide you with a solid foundation for your future career.
As part of the department's commitment to supporting CPD activities, a comprehensive induction and local training programme is provided. Undertaking a well-regarded Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy is also encouraged.
Current trainee pharmacists are welcome to apply; previous hospital experience is not essential as extensive training is available.
Main duties of the jobOur Rotational Clinical Pharmacists provide a high quality, patient-centred service ensuring the safe, effective, legal and accurate use of medicines across the trust. You will be self-motivated and organised with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will able to work effectively alone and as part of a team.
This will include:
- Providing a safe and efficient clinical pharmacy service to hospital wards anddepartments in accordance with departmental policies and contributing to the development of pharmacy services as required.
- Providing education and training support for nursing staff and patients and providing pharmaceutical advice to clinicians.
- Delivering a comprehensive on-call service, to identify and meet the pharmaceutical care needs of patients, 24 hours a day, including bank holidays and weekends.

Person Specification Qualifications, Specific Experience & Training- Vocational Masters Degree in pharmacy and one year pre-registration training experience
- Membership of the General Pharmaceutical Council
- 1 year pre-registration training providing supervised experience (in either hospital or community pharmacy)
- Experience using pharmacy computer systems for stock control and labelling
- Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
- Member of the UKCPA or other specialist interest groups
- Hospital experience including medicines information, dispensing and aseptic services rotations
- Experience using JAC stock control systems
- Experience of electronic prescribing systems
- Enthusiasm for the position
- Team player
- Methodical with good attention to detail
- Self-motivated and with the ability to motivate and inspire others
- Able to multi task and able to deal with constant interruptions and multiple pressures
- Able to work alone and as a team member and to work independently on designated tasks
- Commitment to and demonstration of continuing professional development
- Able to work shifts
- Excellent communication skills with other professionals, patients and carers, including verbal, written and electronic
- Demonstrate the ability to provide safe and clinically effective use of drugs
