ROOM LEADER

Salary: £30,000-£32,000 per annum
Age group: 0-2 years
Qualification: Level 3 Early Years qualification or above
Start date: 7 September 2026
The role
Great Starts Recruitment is working with an Early Years setting in Cottenham to recruit an enthusiastic Room Leader for the 0-2 years age group. You will lead the room team, set a strong example in practice and make sure every child receives high-quality care and learning.
Key responsibilities
• Lead the room team and ensure children receive high-quality care, learning and support throughout the day.
• Plan and oversee engaging, age-appropriate experiences in line with the EYFS and children's individual needs.
• Maintain safe staffing, ratios, routines, safeguarding practice and a stimulating learning environment.
• Support, guide and motivate practitioners, promoting consistent practice and professional development.
• Develop strong relationships with parents and carers and maintain clear records of children's progress.
What we're looking for
• A full and relevant Early Years qualification at Level 3.
• A sound understanding of the EYFS and safeguarding responsibilities.
• Previous leadership or senior Early Years experience appropriate to the level of the role.
• Confident communication, organisation and team-leadership skills.
