Road Safety Manager

Our client is a large local government organisation seeking an experienced Road Safety Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities include:

1. Managing teams within the Road Safety department, including Data, Engineering, and ThinkTravel, to ensure continuous service improvement.
2. Leading efforts to meet statutory and legislative road safety obligations and working towards set targets.
3. Overseeing the commissioning and project management of road safety schemes, whether undertaken by the business or external entities.
4. Driving the implementation and development of strategies and policies related to road safety and ThinkTravel, aiming to achieve relevant targets.
5. Collaborating within the Road Safety Partnership, including working with Councillors, Police, Fire and Rescue, Communities, and other stakeholders.
6. Developing and producing policies and guidance on road safety topics such as speed limits, active travel, crossings, and community-led initiatives.
7. Managing schemes and campaigns promoting active travel, coordinating with other teams and partners to meet objectives.
8. Maintaining the road traffic collision database, exploring innovative software solutions to enhance information management.
9. Producing annual and ongoing reviews of traffic collisions, and reviewing scheme prioritization processes for casualty reduction.
10. Conducting road safety studies to evaluate scheme proposals and policies.
11. Staying updated with Department for Transport policies, design standards, and guidelines, and developing relationships with stakeholders.

The salary range for this position is £55,000 - £56,050 per annum.
