About the company:
Petrodec is a fast-moving company working in an exciting environment: offshore decommissioning. We are looking for high technical knowledge, autonomy, flexibility and creativity.
Summary:
The Rig Manager is a line manager who is responsible for the decision-making with regard to safe and efficient operation within the budget and contractual agreements of the unit under his responsibility. The Rig Manager assists the Operations Manager in day-to-day activities. Work location is primarily office-based but includes offshore and on-site visits.
Core Responsibilities:
The core tasks include, but may not be limited to, the statements below.
- Ensures compliance with Petrodec's policies, procedures, Safety Case, and management system, while demonstrating clear (Safety) leadership and setting high standards for quality, health, safety, and environmental awareness.
- Develops and maintains effective working relationships with client personnel, sharing technical knowledge and perceived commercial opportunities with the organisation.
- Coordinates, supervises, and ensures safe execution of projects, maintenance, surveys, and modifications, within budget and according to procedures.
- Ensures crew competence, performance, development, and participation in improving company performance, in close cooperation with HR.
- Monitors safety aspects, incidents, nonconformities, and ensures appropriate actions and follow-ups are taken, including Management of Change and Corrective Action databases.
- Cooperates with clients in the development and execution of HAZID/HAZOP, rig move operations, project documentation, and attends safety meetings as required.
- Maintains up-to-date classification, flag state, and certifying authority documentation, liaises with authorities, and ensures the unit and its equipment remain in class.
- Prepares project specifications, budgets, objectives, quotations, and ensures documentation and filing systems are current and retrievable.
- Organises an effective working environment, empowers employees, cascades management messages, and deals objectively with disagreements.
- Performs inspections/visits to the offshore unit, controls unit budget, allocates resources, and identifies commercial opportunities through prospect/client visits.

Qualifications and Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree or Maroff or ships engineering certificate, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of operational, offshore or O&G project experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience at an engineering level.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
- Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
- Familiar with Class, statutory, local regulations (e.g. Safety case, Performance standards and Written Scheme of Verification, offshore/maritime legislation).
