Revenues Officer Council Tax

Overview

To assist in the efficient delivery of the Council Tax and Business Rates Services in line with legislation and Council policy. To maintain a high standard of customer care whilst ensuring collection targets can be achieved.

Responsibilities

• Deal with customer enquiries, administer council tax accounts, assess discounts and exemptions, investigate changes in circumstances and make decisions in line with legislation and council policy.
• Working as part of a supportive team, play an important role in helping residents while ensuring accounts are accurate and up to date.
• Manage your own workload, work to deadlines and provide a high standard of customer service across a range of communication channels.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills
• Good attention to detail
• A positive, flexible approach
• Experience in council tax or local government is desirable but not essential; full training and ongoing support will be provided
