Job Summary

The Retail Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of store operations while supporting the smooth running of other retail locations if needed. The role focuses on driving sales performance, delivering exceptional customer service, managing inventory efficiently, and leading a motivated team.

This is a hands on leadership role requiring strong commercial awareness, operational control, and the ability to maximise revenue opportunities across the business.

Key Responsibilities Sales, Strategy & Performance
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to drive revenue growth.
  • Set and monitor performance targets across the retail team.
  • Analyse sales data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure maximum profitability across all retail areas.
  • Support multi site performance and consistency where required.
Customer Experience
  • Ensure an outstanding level of customer service at all times.
  • Resolve customer complaints quickly, professionally, and effectively.
  • Build strong, lasting relationships with customers and local stakeholders.
  • Champion a customer first culture throughout the team.
Operational Management
  • Oversee day to day store operations, ensuring smooth and efficient processes.
  • Manage stock levels, inventory control, and product availability.
  • Liaise with service teams to ensure accurate processing of returns and parts.
  • Ensure salvageable or returned stock is correctly identified and booked in.
  • Maintain excellent merchandising standards and full use of retail space.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Recruit, train, and develop a high performing retail team.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance management.
  • Conduct regular reviews to support growth and accountability.
  • Foster a positive, motivated, and collaborative working environment.
Compliance & Standards
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Maintain high health & safety standards across the store.
  • Keep up to date with retail trends and operational best practice.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Proven experience in a retail management or supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Commercially minded with a focus on driving sales and profitability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Experience with stock control, EPOS, or retail management systems.
  • Ability to analyse data and translate it into action.
