Blue Forge Recruitment is proud to partner with some of Ireland's most dynamic and forward-thinking names in retail and FMCG. We're currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established supermarket, convenience retail food group operating a number of stores in the Kildare area. This is a busy traditional convenience supermarket store located in a busy Kildare town, with roughly 25 employees, and requires a shop floor manager who has experience supervising staff and Supervisors within a convenience store or another supermarket. There are great opportunities to grow here with several stores to advance your managerial career within. This position is on a good bus route, but the successful candidate will be required to open and close on occasion, which requires you to be available for 6 or 7 am starts and 8 - 10 pm closes.

€35,000 - 38,000 DOE.

Ideal Candidate for this Retail Duty Manager Job
  • Have strong attention to detail
  • Must demonstrate good business acumen, able to understand how to grow sales, control P&L, control costs.
  • Grocery or fresh food knowledge, ideally within Retail supermarket or convenience shop environments, would be essential for this job.
  • Strong organisational skills, demonstrate the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and achieve results in a high pressured environment
  • Flexible to work different shifts, mornings and evenings
  • People management skills
Responsibilities for this Retail Duty Manager Job
  • Store Operations Management - Oversee daily store operations of the shop, ensuring smooth and efficient running of the store in the absence of senior management. Maintain high operational and merchandising standards at all times.
  • Departmental Oversight - Take ownership of designated departments, focusing on driving sales, enhancing profitability, and ensuring optimal stock availability. Manage supplier relationships to maintain competitive pricing, effective stock control, and minimize waste.
  • Team Supervision & Development - Lead, supervise, and support your departmental teams, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to ensure a productive and motivated workforce.
  • Customer Service Excellence - Deliver outstanding customer service by professionally handling queries and complaints. Implement customer engagement strategies aimed at increasing footfall, boosting retention, and enhancing the overall customer experience.
