Retail Assistant

Red Chair Recruitment are seeking a Retail Assistant for a part-time position in our farm supplies retailer in Killorglin. The ideal candidate should be well organised, a good communicator, have some computer skills and preferably a knowledge of farming. Training will be provided. They will handle day-to-day sales enquiries, process customer orders and quotations, and provide excellent service and support to our valued customers. This position may suit a person looking to get back to work.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage incoming customer calls as the first point of contact.
• Build and maintain customer relationships.
• Respond to quotes and sales enquiries accurately and promptly.
• Restock displays to ensure consistent product availability.
• Handle POS transactions (cash, card, credit).
• Maintain high standards of store presentation and cleanliness.
• Follow cash and merchandise security procedures.
• Comply with all policies, health & safety procedures, and report hazards.

Requirements Include

• Experience in a similar role is desirable.
• Ability to use initiative and adapt when needed.
• Highly organised with strong time-management skills.
• Knowledge of the farming sector is an advantage.
• Able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and IT skills.
• Ability to lift and move stock.

The successful candidate will be working between 20-25 hours per week and earning between €15-16 per hour depending on experience.
