Residential Support Worker

Location: Southampton, UKSalary: £29,000 per annum + Sleep-In Enhancements + OvertimeHours: 37.5 hours per week (shift work including evenings, weekends & sleep-ins)Job Type: Full-Time, PermanentSetting: Ofsted-Regulated Children's Home (6-bed)

We are seeking a Residential Support Worker to join our dedicated team in a six-bed Children's Home based in Southampton. This is a fantastic opportunity to build a career in children's residential care within a supportive and trauma-informed environment.

About the Role:

As a Residential Support Worker, you will:

  • Provide daily care and support - including personal care, meal preparation, administering medication, and maintaining routines

  • Build meaningful relationships with young people through consistent emotional support and positive behaviour management

  • Encourage learning and development by supporting school attendance, helping with homework, and engaging in social, leisure, and life-skill activities

  • Safeguard and protect - ensuring the safety of all young people and reporting any concerns in line with safeguarding policies

  • Work collaboratively with Social Workers, Therapists, Youth Offending Teams, and internal colleagues to deliver holistic, person-centred care

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to complete one)

  • Willingness to work on a rota (including evenings, weekends & sleep-ins)

  • Commitment to complete the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (if not already achieved)
