Salary G6: £31,537 £34,434 (plus 5% enhancement for unsociable hours and additional payments for sleeping in duties) (pro rata for part time post)
Qualified Starting salary: £32,597
Unqualified Starting salary: £31,537
Post type: 1 part time 21 hour post.
Location: Various homes across the borough of Walsall, this will be determined upon appointment.
We are looking for people who have some experience of working with children in any setting to join our Children's Residential Services within Walsall. This role requires you to be resilient, resourceful, enthusiastic and motivated to be a positive influence on our children.
All successful candidates will be expected to work as part of a team that provides 24/7 on a rota basis. These shift patterns may vary across the service, but all include working weekdays, weekends, bank holidays and sleeping in duties (additional payment).
Qualifications and Experience- Qualified candidates will hold a level three/four qualification in children's residential care or equivalent.
- We also encourage applications from unqualified candidates who can demonstrate some experience whether this be employed or voluntary who have a passion for working with children.
- Provide direct care for children and engage with children and their families, supporting them to achieve positive outcomes.
- Implement a child-centred approach, actively promoting children's rights, and deliver services in safe personalised small group homes focused on supporting children's welfare.
Completion of an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check is a requirement for working with children, young people and vulnerable adults.
Applicants for posts requiring enhanced DBS clearance must declare any periods lived, studied or worked abroad and provide an Overseas Criminal Records Certificate (OCRC) or Statement of Good Conduct (SOGC).
Post is covered by the Government's Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers. The post holder must communicate verbally with customers and provide advice and/or information in accurate spoken English.
