Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Central London - Residential Developer

My client, a residential developer operating across Zone 1 & 2 in Central London, specializing in high-rise luxury apartments, is currently looking to add an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to their growing commercial team.

The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years' experience or more with a UK residential developer, working on procurement of sub-contractor packages and related tasks.

You will report directly to the Lead Surveyor/Commercial Manager on daily operations of their developments.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities, in collaboration with the architect and/or client;
  • Handle final accounts;
  • Assist in establishing client requirements and conducting feasibility studies;
  • Perform risk, value management, and cost control;
  • Advise on procurement strategies;
  • Identify, analyze, and develop responses to commercial risks;
  • Prepare and analyze costings for tenders;
  • Allocate work to subcontractors;
  • Provide advice on contractual claims;
  • Analyze outcomes and produce detailed progress reports;
  • Value completed work and coordinate payments;
  • Maintain knowledge of current building contracts;
  • Understand health and safety regulations and implications.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Must hold a relevant CSCS Card.
  • A degree or master's in Quantity Surveying is essential.
  • RICS membership is desirable but not essential.
  • CIOB membership is desirable but not essential.
  • Full clean driving license.
  • Proficiency with computers.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Smart and presentable appearance.
  • Ability to liaise effectively with internal and external parties.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated.
