Research Associate: Urban Mobilities, University of Oxford, UK

I am recruiting a full-time Research Associate in Urban Mobilities (Grade 7: £39,424-£47,779) to join the Transport Studies Unit (TSU), School of Geography and the Environment, University of Oxford (26-month fixed-term post, Vacancy 185069). The position is funded by UKRI (Driving Urban Transitions) and forms part of the international project INCLUCity+: Youth and Logistics Integration in the 15-Minute City. The successful candidate will work closely with me on the UK case study in Bristol, critically examining how urban logistics is incorporated into low-traffic neighbourhood planning, with a particular focus on equity and social justice. The role involves designing and conducting qualitative fieldwork (including interviews, focus groups and co-creation workshops), working closely with municipal and civil society partners, collaborating with international project colleagues, and contributing to high-quality academic publications and knowledge exchange activities.

Applicants should hold (or be close to completion of) a PhD in Human Geography, Urban Planning, or a related field, and demonstrate expertise in urban social justice and qualitative research methods. The post is based in Oxford, with regular travel to Bristol and some international collaboration. Flexible working arrangements are supported.
