Research Associate: Ethics of Synthetic Data & AI

The University of York is recruiting two Research Associates for the European Research Council project 'The Ethics of Synthetic Data in the Age of Machine Learning and AI'. This role involves researching the societal impact of synthetic data, contributing to research design, and working alongside a dynamic research team. Candidates should have a PhD in sociology or a related area, alongside skills in team collaboration and research publication. Positions are available from October 2026 for 36 months, with an anticipated interview in June 2026.
