To strengthen our team at the Energypolis campus, CIRAIG at the Institute of Energy and Environment of the HES-SO Valais-Wallis is seeking to fill the position of:
Research Associate in Life Cycle Assessment and Green Technologies (80-100%)
Position description
Participate in the design and delivery of applied research and development (R&D) projects and services, drawing on your scientific expertise.
Develop national and international collaborations and participate in the preparation of research proposals.
Manage and oversee public and private R&D projects.
Participate in the supervision of student projects.
Contribute to projects involving environmental life cycle modelling and assessment, material flow analysis, techno-economic analysis, circular economy, eco-design, data management and analysis, and the development of metrics and environmental assessment tools.
Write and present technical deliverables for public and private clients/partners.
Contribute to the academic life of CIRAIG, the Institute of Energy and Environment and the Energypolis Campus.
Selection criteria
Master's degree in Energy, Engineering, Environmental Science or a related field; a doctoral degree is an advantage.
Experience in scientific research or equivalent, including the development, management and writing of research projects; experience with Horizon Europe projects is an asset.
Proven expertise in life cycle analysis, eco-design and data visualisation; experience in emerging renewable energy technologies is an advantage.
Strong organisational skills and a high degree of autonomy, with the ability to manage technical and interdisciplinary projects integrating sustainability metrics from a life cycle perspective.
Excellent knowledge of English; good knowledge of French is an advantage.

Votre mission
Participer à la conception et à la réalisation des activités de recherche appliquée et développement (Ra&D) et de prestations de service par ses compétences scientifiques
Développer des collaborations nationales et internationales, dans les domaines précités, et participer à la rédaction de projets de recherche
Prendre en charge la gestion et le suivi de projets Ra&D publics et privés
Participer à l'encadrement de projets d'étudiants et étudiantes
Intervenir sur des projets tels que : modélisation et analyse environnementale du cycle de vie, analyse des flux de matière, analyse techno-économique, économie circulaire, appui aux démarches d'éco-conception, gestion et analyse de données, développement de métriques et d'outils d'évaluation environnementale
Rédiger et présenter des livrables techniques pour les clients/partenaires publics et privés
Participer à la vie intellectuelle du CIRAIG, de l'institut Energie et environnement et du Campus Energypolis
Votre profil
Master en Energie, Ingénierie, Sciences environnementales ou équivalent ; thèse de doctorat est un plus
Expérience de recherche scientifique ou équivalente dans la réalisation, gestion de projets de recherche et dans la rédaction scientifique ; expérience dans les projets européens est un atout
Expérience éprouvée dans les analyses du cycle de vie, l'écodesign et la représentation des données ; expérience dans les technologies d'énergie renouvelable en émergence est un atout
Organisation, autonomie et motivation, capacité d'agir en tant que gestionnaire de projet de réalisation technique et de réalisation de travaux interdisciplinaires nécessitant l'intégration de métriques de durabilité avec une perspective cycle de vie
Excellente connaissance de l'anglais ; bonne connaissance du français est un plus
