Research Assistant ('Snacktivity') - Fixed-Term

Loughborough University is seeking a Research Assistant to join the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences on a full-time, fixed-term basis for 12 months. The role is part of the 'Snacktivity' research initiative within a globally recognised research environment known for excellence in sport, exercise, and health sciences.

The School has a strong international reputation across multiple disciplines including biomechanics, physiology, psychology, nutrition, sociology, and sport management, and is actively expanding its research capacity through initiatives such as the National Centre for Sport and Exercise Medicine and StemLab. The successful candidate will contribute to high-quality research and innovation activities aligned with these strategic priorities.

The position involves supporting research design and implementation, contributing to data collection and analysis, and assisting in the dissemination of research findings. Eligibility Criteria
  • Applicants should hold a relevant degree in a discipline related to sport, exercise, health sciences, or a closely aligned field.
  • A postgraduate qualification or progress toward one is desirable.
  • Candidates must demonstrate an interest in research and the ability to contribute effectively to academic projects.
Required expertise/skills
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Experience in data collection and analysis.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to contribute to research publications and reports.
  • Familiarity with interdisciplinary research environments and an understanding of health and exercise related research areas are advantageous.
