Your role
- As part of our research team, you will develop and implement algorithms that enable AI-based systems to understand and predict human situational awareness.
- You will closely collaborate with industry and project partners to implement your algorithms in the operational environment.
- You will have the opportunity to work on projects across a wide range of application areas in collaboration with diverse industry partners.
- You will be involved in the full cycle of Human Factors data collection campaigns-from planning and execution to analysis and reporting.
- You will participate in the testing and validation of applications in experiments and in the field to ensure reliability and efficiency of solutions in operational environments.
- You will document the process of development and the results of the validation, write project reports and scientific papers, and present results.
- You will support the lecture in Human Factors and co-supervise student projects.
Your profile
- You hold a bachelor's or master's degree in aviation, computer science, engineering, data analysis, or a related field, and have practical experience in data science projects.
- You have strong programming skills and experience in data analysis, machine learning and AI technologies.
- You are interested in the Human Factors methodology including eye-tracking and physiological data.
- You have a strong interest in human-machine interaction, ideally with a focus on the aviation domain.
- You are a creative and analytical problem-solver.
- You are an effective communicator, both verbally and in writing - in English and preferably also in German.
- You thrive in team settings but can also work independently and take initiative and responsibility.

The Human Factors team is concerned with the study of human performance in various branches of aviation and other industries. The goal is to develop training tools and methods to empower human performance, support development of expertise and relieve people's workload in their job. Data-driven understanding of human performance is used to enhance true human-automation teaming. In our team you will enjoy an exciting and rewarding working environment, combining close industrial collaboration with multidisciplinary innovative research. The position is limited to one year with the possibility of extension.
