This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual. We are looking for a reprographics technician to join a small team working to meet the reprographic needs of the UHB. You will work with the team in the reprographics unit, provide high quality printing and copying service to support the clinical and administrative functions of Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.
Main duties of the job- Undertake all duties associated with a central reprographics unit, including materials handling and processing.
- Prepare paper stocks, including guillotining.
- Operate folding, booklet making, laminating, drilling and packing equipment.
- Utilise all equipment and resources effectively, efficiently and with minimal operational wastage.
- Identify faults with printing and finishing equipment and report to the Senior Reprographics Technician.
- Identify issues with image quality and report to the Senior Reprographics Technician.
- Undertake page-layout and basic desk-top publishing design for the production of simple forms.
- Parcel, pack and make available for collection and delivery completed work.
- Contribute to the delivery and distribution of completed work.
- Liaise closely and advise clients, providing an accurate, timely and confidential service.
- Contribute to discussions on the future development of the central print and reprographics unit.
- Maintain accurate records of all production activities using paper-based and computer-based systems.
- Monitor and report stock levels to the Senior Reprographics Technician.

- Good general level of education
- 5 GCSE passes including English and Maths A-C or NVQ level 2 / ND in a business administration or graphic design.
- Experience of helping customers over the phone and / or face-to-face
- Experience of working in an office environment including the use of photo-copiers.
- Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Word and email programs
- Knowledge of desk-top publishing software.
- Ability to communicate clearly in a professional environment. Able to work as a member of a small team. Desire for personal and professional development.
