Relief Security Officer - Arvato Distribution Centres

Locations: Birmingham Derby Corby
Pay: Competitive hourly rate
Shift pattern: Relief 12-hour shifts
Hours: 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am

Professional Security is recruiting SIA-licensed Security Officers to support operations at Arvato distribution centres across four UK locations.

The role

As a Security Officer, you will provide an efficient and effective security service across a busy distribution environment. You will monitor access to the site, conduct searches and patrols, respond to incidents and help ensure consistently high standards of safety and security.

You will also provide a professional and approachable presence for employees, contractors, drivers and visitors entering the site.

Key responsibilities
  • Controlling access to and from the site
  • Verifying identification and issuing visitor passes where required
  • Monitoring employees, contractors, drivers and visitors
  • Conducting searches in accordance with site procedures
  • Completing regular internal and external patrols
  • Monitoring entrances, exits, perimeters and other key areas
  • Responding promptly to alarms, incidents and suspicious activity
  • Following emergency and incident-response procedures
  • Identifying and reporting security breaches, hazards and potential risks
  • Maintaining accurate security logs and written incident reports
  • Working closely with colleagues, site management and emergency services
  • Delivering a professional and helpful service to everyone on site
  • Following Professional Security, client and SIA standards at all times
About you

To be considered, you must:

  • Hold a valid SIA licence
  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Be able to work 12-hour day and night shifts on a 4-on, 4-off pattern
  • Demonstrate high levels of professionalism, reliability and integrity
  • Communicate clearly and confidently, both verbally and in writing
  • Remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure
  • Be comfortable working within a busy distribution environment
  • Be able to work effectively independently and as part of a team
  • Previous security experience and a valid First Aid qualification are desirable but not essential.
