Job Description

Join us as a Relationship Director within our Large Corporate team in London. The successful candidate will work within our Hospitality and Leisure team, covering clients across 8 sub-sectors, including food and drink, travel, hotels, and leisure operators. The portfolio is biased towards Travel. As a Relationship Director in Corporate Bank, you will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service, building deep client relationships, and managing a portfolio of corporate clients with an annual turnover exceeding approximately £25m to maximize sustainable income.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong stakeholder management
  • Understanding of sales, communication, negotiation, credit, and debt structuring, utilizing internal tools and frameworks

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of the bank's products, services, policies, and competition in the UK Corporate Banking market
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, sharing ideas and best practices with peers

This role is based in London and is a 12-month secondment.

Assessment may include key skills such as risk management, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital, and technical skills.

Purpose of the role:

To establish and nurture profitable partnerships with corporate clients, acting as a bridge between the bank's offerings and clients' needs for mutual benefit and long-term success.

Accountabilities:

  • Manage client relationships to understand financial goals, challenges, and risk tolerance, analyzing data from various sources
  • Research industry trends, regulatory landscape, and competitive environment to inform strategies
  • Design customized solutions using a range of bank products and services
  • Communicate value propositions, justify recommendations, and negotiate terms beneficial to both parties
  • Guide clients on financial decisions, risk management, and wealth strategies, providing market updates
  • Assess and mitigate financial, legal, and operational risks
  • Document interactions and transactions for transparency and compliance
  • Monitor client satisfaction and revenue metrics to evaluate relationship management effectiveness
  • Conduct market research to identify growth opportunities and develop strategies accordingly
