Job Description
Regulatory Finance Analyst

Location: Edinburgh / Farringdon

Salary: Personal Contract (Dependent on skills & qualifications)

Reference:REQ5200

Working within SGNs Regulation department, the Regulatory Finance Analyst will be multi-disciplined in supporting both our regulatory reporting requirements as well as supporting ad hoc requirements when required by our regulator.

Here's how you will contribute

  • Assist in gathering and checking data inputs for regulatory submissions, ensuring consistency, accuracy and clarity.
  • Support the review of Ofgem publications from both a financial aspect and alignment with licence conditions.
  • Help to identify data gaps or inconsistencies and raise them with relevant stakeholders to support robust regulatory submissions.
  • Review and consolidation of regional factor information and the supporting evidence that feeds into normalisation approaches used within Ofgem cost efficiency modelling suite.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders in presenting the allowance information for the purposes of budget setting and ongoing internal benchmarking.
What you will need

The role requires the candidate to have:

  • Experience of data analysis and manipulation techniques
  • Experience liaising across departments
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to develop effective working relationships
  • Excellent organisational skills to ensure that work is delivered to tight timescales
  • A flexible approach and willingness to engage across the wider business
  • A highly self-motivated approach with a positive attitude

In addition, these skills that would be beneficial to this role:

  • Understanding of the regulatory framework that SGN operates
  • Knowledge of the Operational activities within the business
  • A degree or equivalent in either Finance, Business or Economics
  • Experience working with CBA techniques
