Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Regulatory Compliance Engineer to support our engineering and construction projects in meeting German and EU regulatory requirements. This role is open to both early-career and experienced professionals with a strong technical foundation and a passion for compliance and safety. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, regulatory bodies, and clients to ensure compliance is embedded throughout the project lifecycle.


This role involves supporting engineering and construction projects in meeting regulatory requirements.


Responsibilities:

Regulatory Interpretation & Application

  • Monitor, interpret, and apply national and EU directives, regulations, and standards.
  • Act as a liaison between the project team, clients, German regulatory authorities, and EU notified bodies.
  • Stay current with evolving regulatory frameworks and industry best practices.


Compliance Management

  • Develop and maintain a project-wide compliance matrix and change-control process.
  • Conduct regulatory risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Support product testing, certification processes, and regulatory audits.


Documentation & Technical Support

  • Create, review, and maintain technical documentation, test reports, and declarations of conformity.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve compliance-related issues across the project lifecycle.


Training & Collaboration

  • Deliver training and coaching to engineering, procurement, and construction teams on CE marking and German statutory requirements.
  • Collaborate with design, construction, and operations teams to ensure compliance is integrated from concept to commissioning.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Power Systems, or a related technical field.
  • German language proficiency.
  • Strong understanding of the European CE marking framework and documentation practices.
  • Familiarity with HVDC converter stations or Oil & Gas infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working with EU notified bodies, German TSOs, and regulatory authorities.
  • Knowledge of relevant German and EU regulations, including: WsV, ASR, BSH, SOLF, DGUV, DVGW, VDI, and VDE regulations and standards.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply international and national regulations, EN codes, and technical standards.
  • Understanding of design, construction, and operational phases of engineering projects.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex regulatory language into actionable engineering tasks.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
  • Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving abilities.
