Registration Support Officer (Temp)

Hourly rate £14

My Client is a University in South East London. The candidate will be responsible for the successful registration of student and report to Head of Student Centre; Senior Student Centres Manager; Student Centre Campus Manager within the department.

Purpose of the Role:

Student and Academic Services (SAS) supports students by providing access to the full range of guidance and welfare services as well as interaction with the University's administration with regard to registration. The overall purpose of the Registration Support Officer is to:

  • Support SAS in the delivery of Registration
  • Update student details (such as name and address)
  • Issue students with their Greenwich Gateway Card
  • General signposting and direction giving
  • Support the Student Centre in the delivery of high class services to students
  • Undertake a wide range of administrative and clerical activities to support the efficient operation of the work of the Student Centres; including assisting with the Student Registration process, checking documentation including ID, as well as inputting and collecting accurate information and user statistics.
  • Provide information and support to students, face to face
  • Undertake other appropriate duties as requested by the Line Manager
  • Work as part of a team within the Student Centre, particularly at registration
Managing Self:
  • Manage own workload, prioritise work unsupervised
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure
Additional Requirements:
  • A willingness to travel between campuses
  • Any other duties as appropriate to the post and grade
Skills:
  • Good written, verbal, oral and technology based communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal instruction
  • Excellent people skills
  • Ability to work within a team approach
  • Well organised, self motivated, self evaluative and able to pay attention to detail
  • Ability to cope with peak demand in a very busy environment
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Availability at short notice
  • Good standard of education or equivalent work experience
  • Computer literacy
Experience:
  • Experience of an HE environment
  • Admin experience
  • Experience in customer care/customer focussed environment
Qualifications:

GCSE Maths/English (or equivalent)
