Registered Veterinary Nurse

We are looking for an additional RVN to join our practice in Hayes, working part time to support a growing GP workload.

Schedule: 2 day week (Thursdays and Fridays, 8 hour shifts) with a 1:3 Saturday rotation between Hayes and Uxbridge, and a 1:10 Sunday shift alongside the Mandeville Hospital team, plus one bank holiday per year. There are NO on call requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the provision of a high quality and continually improving standard of nursing care.
• Assist the veterinary surgeon in theatre and during consultations, as and when required.
• Maintain comprehensive patient hospitalisation records and ensure accurate record keeping of hospitalised patients.
• Ensure a high standard of comfort and welfare for all pets in our care.
• Maintain a respectful and collaborative team environment.
• Ensure equipment is cleaned, packed, sterilised and stored correctly when not in use.
• Maintain adequate stocks of drugs, diets and consumables and place orders with suppliers as needed.
• Assist with the induction of new staff and their subsequent training.
• Provide reception duties as required, ensuring a friendly and efficient handling of clients and their pets in person, by email and over the telephone.
• Support student nurses and VCA's as a clinical supervisor.

Salary

£32,000 to £36,000 per annum (full time equivalent based on 40 hours per week, to be pro rated for part time hours) depending on experience and allowing room for growth within the role.
