Job Description

As a Surgical Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering high standards of peri-operative nursing care, supporting our veterinary surgeons during procedures, and ensuring a seamless patient journey - including the safe transfer and admission of surgical and complex cases to our 24-hour hospital in Watford.You will be responsible for patient preparation, theatre support, anaesthesia monitoring, post-operative care, and discharge planning, while maintaining exceptional clinical standards and regulatory compliance. A significant part of this role includes coordinating and escorting patients requiring ongoing or advanced care to our 24-hour hospital in Watford, ensuring clear clinical handovers and continuity of care.

About you

You're a RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse with a passion for delivering exceptional patient and client care. You're a team player who wants to make a real difference in a practice that values and supports you.

What you'll be doing

Typicallly, in this role, you'll:

  • Deliver exceptional standards of peri-operative and inpatient care, supporting consultations, surgeries and procedures in line with all regulatory, practice and operational standards
  • Provide comprehensive patient monitoring, including anaesthesia support, surgical assistance and post-operative care
  • Coordinate patient admissions, transfers and discharges, including the safe escort of cases to our 24-hour Watford hospital
  • Carry out nursing procedures at both branch and hospital level, contributing to the management of surgical and hospitalised cases
  • Deliver exceptional service and communication to clients, ensuring they feel informed and supported throughout their pet's treatment journey
  • Work collaboratively within a supportive, close-knit team to maintain the highest standards of clinical care
