Registered Service Manager - Ofsted
Posted 21 hours 23 minutes ago by Health Recruit Network
Location: Northampton
Salary: £45,000 to £50,000 per year (depending on experience)
You'll step into an Ofsted-registered supported accommodation service for 16+ young people with emotional and behavioural needs. The service is already registered and supporting 4 young people. The provider has a strong track record in care and support, including learning disability and supported living services, with a clear focus on dignity, choice and independence for children and adults. You're walking into an organisation that already understands quality and wants that same standard in their 16+ offer.
The roleAs Registered Service Manager, you'll lead the supported accommodation service day to day and hold Ofsted registration. You'll:
- Lead and manage the Ofsted-registered 16+ service, with one young person already placed and capacity to grow safely
- Make sure the service meets Ofsted expectations, local authority commissioning standards and all relevant regulations
- Oversee person-centred support plans that focus on independence, emotional safety, education, work and life skills
- Recruit, supervise and develop a strong staff team who understand trauma, EBD and the realities of semi-independence
- Build working relationships with local authorities (including out-of-area), schools/colleges, health and wider networks
- Monitor quality through audits, risk assessments, feedback and data, and turn learning into practical changes
- Take the lead on safeguarding, thresholds, escalation and multi-agency planning
- As the service grows and dual registration comes online, you'll play a key part in shaping how the wider model develops, not just this one site.
- Experience as an Ofsted Registered Manager, or Deputy/Service Lead in supported accommodation or residential childcare ready to step up
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards)
- Strong understanding of Ofsted frameworks, supported accommodation standards, and children's social care legislation
- Experience working with local authorities on placements, commissioning and reviews
- Confident leadership; you're comfortable setting expectations, coaching staff and holding a clear line when needed
- A way of working that's structured, child-focused and grounded in relational practice
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel locally for meetings and visits
Salary between £45,000 and £50,000 per year, depending on experience.
