Exciting Opportunity for Registered Orthopaedic Scrub Nurse (Band 5) - In the Essex Area

MedicsPro are seeking experienced orthopaedic scrub nurses - Band 5 with recent NHS experience, who are looking for flexible extra shifts or full time agency work within the Essex area. This opportunity is to cover Monday Saturday day shifts, during the hours of 8 am-8 pm. Various working shifts are available.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare instruments and set up surgical equipment to ensure a sterile and efficient environment.
• Assist in positioning, preparing, and draping patients according to surgical procedures.
• Support the surgical team by scrubbing in during surgery and anticipating the surgeon's needs for equipment and instruments.
• Label and document medications and other items used in the operating room accurately.
• Monitor and record the patient's respiratory and cardiovascular signs throughout the procedure.
• Communicate effectively with surgeons and the surgical team to ensure smooth and successful operations.
• Consider potential complications and develop a plan of action for any necessary lifesaving measures.
• Maintain strict hygiene standards, including washing hands and arms with surgical soap before and after procedures.
