Come and Join Our Growing Forensic CMHT.

We are looking to recruit 2 skilled professionals with forensic experience to work across our Community Mental Health Services. This project aims to enhance the confidence and competence of forensic knowledge throughout Community Mental Health.

Exciting investment at Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust (CWPT) allows us to expand our existing Forensic Community Mental Health Team. We're building a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team of 27 skilled professionals to deliver outstanding mental health care to adults with forensic presentations. This ambitious 2-year project is backed by significant funding and is focused on transforming mental health services for people who are a risk to others.

What We're Working On
  • Setting up a dedicated clinic space within a local remand prison
  • Improving the transition pathway from secure care to community services
  • Embedding forensic specialists into each Community Mental Health Team (CMHT)
  • Providing consultation and formulation support to staff and services
  • Creating a co-production forum for collaborative service development
  • Offering targeted risk reduction interventions in the community
  • Delivering comprehensive forensic training for all CWPT staff
  • Leading research on community forensic services to shape future care
Main duties of the job

We are seeking passionate individuals with a background working with forensic service users and those with complex mental health needs. The roles will involve building care pathways and fostering strong working relationships with other teams and external agencies, so excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential. If you are experienced in forensic settings (e.g., prisons, secure hospitals, probation) and have a solid understanding of the relevant legislation, we would love to hear from you.

We want an interest in working with people with complex and significant mental health problems. It is vital you have strong communication skills, can work on your own initiative as well as collaboratively with colleagues, and are willing and enthusiastic to learn new skills and develop your practice. You will face tight deadlines and be under pressure, but you will be supported throughout your time with the team.

  • Current unrestricted registration with HCPC/NMC
Knowledge and Skills Essential
  • Ability to demonstrate and apply understanding of policies and procedures
  • Ability to demonstrate and apply understanding of Equal Opportunities
  • Ability to demonstrate and apply understanding of confidentiality
  • Ability to demonstrate and apply understanding of safety issues
  • Ability to demonstrate and apply problem solving skills to a variety of situations
Experience Essential
  • Substantial experience in a Community Mental health care setting
  • Significant experience of undertaking assessment, formulation, risk assessment and positive risk management
Other Essential
  • Must have full driving licence and access to a motor vehicle for business use
