Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nursing Associate to join our team at HMP Wakefield, a category A prison located in West Yorkshire. This high security prison for men has a capacity of around 750.

Hours

This is a part time role working 32 hours per week.

You'll receive an annual salary of £29,264 - £33,510 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK on a permanent basis. Due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

Main duties of the job
  • Provide outstanding care to our patients, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • Contribute to and implement care packages, assist with health promotion, wellbeing and clinics, and assist patients with activities of daily living and personal care.
  • Deliver non judgemental care involving anything from health promotion clinics and observations to supporting the nursing and pharmacy teams in primary care within healthcare centres and on wings and house blocks.
  • Inspire excellence by forging strong links within our teams, partners and stakeholders and providing a service that people can trust, feel safe within and feel proud of.
  • Promote best practice, evidence based care and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning. Promote patient wellbeing through our overarching Wellbeing Approach, demonstrating empathy and understanding to our patients.

Qualifications required
  • Qualified Nursing Associate
  • Currently registered with the NMC
  • Training to level 3 in the safeguarding of vulnerable people
  • Demonstrated current/recent preceptorship pathway since joining the NMC register
  • Evidence of post registration CPD in areas relating to current practice

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
