Vacancy: Gynaecology Ward - Healthcare ProfessionalWe are looking for a motivated and compassionate individual to join our Gynaecology Ward, a dynamic and rewarding clinical environment with a strong surgical focus.
Our ward predominantly provides post operative surgical care, while also supporting pregnant patients up to 12 weeks' gestation with a range of acute and ongoing conditions. In addition, we care for gynaecological oncology patients, delivering high quality, patient centred care throughout their journey.
Uniquely, the ward includes a mini emergency department, receiving urgent referrals from GPs and A&E, as well as managing selected return appointments. This creates a fast paced environment with excellent learning opportunities and a varied case mix.
Shift pattern - Days/nights 24/7
Key Responsibilities- Delivering high quality post operative care
- Supporting patient admissions and discharges
- Providing basic patient care, including assistance with daily living activities (ADLs)
- Catheter care and venflon management
- Performing venepuncture and IV medication administration
- Use of HEPMA and involvement in palliative care
- Recording observations and NEWS scores
- Completing MUST assessments
- Maintaining accurate fluid balance, active care, and food charts
- Using administrative and IT systems effectively
- Adhering to infection prevention and control measures
- Completing mandatory training, including LearnPro

Working hours From 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
