We are recruiting for a Registered Nurse - Acute Dialysis/RITA who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
This post is for a band 5 registered nurse to work within the acute dialysis team and RITA unit. You will be part of a team performing all inpatient dialysis and plasma exchange as well as working within the renal intervention and treatment area (RITA).
This is a one year secondment and an excellent opportunity to broaden your renal skills.

Main duties of the jobTo provide a high standard of nursing care to meet the needs of patients with supervision and support from senior colleagues.
To identify clinical changes in patients and make safe and appropriate decisions in partnership with senior colleagues, seeking timely advice whenever necessary.
To be confident and competent when dealing with an deteriorating patient.
With decreasing levels of supervision, the nurse will plan, implement and evaluate care based on our model of nursing ensuring that the needs of each individual patient.
Be responsible for the accurate recording of clinical observations and data relating to patient care, ensuring that progress is maintained and reviewed.
Be able to present and discuss relevant issues with senior colleagues and the multidisciplinary team.
To communicate with patients and families with empathy and reassurance regarding assessment, care and treatment.

Person Specification Qualifications / Training- Registered Nurse or equivalent with live NMC registration
- Recognised teaching and assessing qualification
- Minimum of six months haemodialysis experience as a qualified nurse
- Experience of mentoring junior/unqualified staff
- Experience of dialyzing inpatients in an acute setting
- Experienced in phlebotomy and cannulation
- Ability to plan, deliver and evaluate interventions and/or treatments
- Ability to prioritise and organise workload
- Ability to develop own skills and knowledge
- Demonstrate an ability to listen and comprehend
- Ability to manage potentially difficult situations
- Physiological assessment of acutely unwell patient
- Awareness of current professional issues
- Ability to support and mentor learners
- Patient focused - committed to ensuring a positive hospital experience for patients and the relatives/carers
- Understanding of critical care
- Understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion
